Hello and welcome to our latest news update. The last update was in December. Previous updates can be found here.
The newsletter is in a completely different format this issue as we have not had the time to compile a full update, given we have been dealing with significant short-staffing due to sickness in recent months. Instead, we provide you with a series of infographic posters that have been designed to inform patients, the public and staff alike, on various aspects of General Practice.
Some of you may already have seen some fo these on our Facebook page, but we republish them here for a wider audience of our patient population.
This series of posters has become so popular with other GP surgeries that you might see them in waiting rooms and on TV screens around the country.
We hope you find them informative and useful.
Editor's note: it's obviously not Christmas, put the points made in this poster remain valid all year round!

I just want to thank you all for your ongoing support. I would like to give a special mention to Dr Francis his ongoing support, compassion and understanding during my difficulties. He has been outstanding and I cannot praise him enough. Today I have my first interaction with Dr Lavender and again she was so understanding and helpful. So a big thank you to both.
I would also like to say thank you to all the reception staff, whenever I call they are so helpful and understanding. Even when they may not have been able to help on that day they have given me other options and advice.
I appreciate the demand you are all facing at the moment and I think in these circumstances you are doing a fantastic job.

Had an appointment with Lindsey [nursing team] yesterday and I was very worried about my appointment. She put me at ease and made me feel very comfortable! I was pleasantly surprised upon ringing the surgery mid-morning and being slotted in at the last minute and Dr Wong was very knowledgeable and compassionate about my ailment and gave me great relief and advice on my diagnosis. All the staff were very helpful too – NT
After a very disheartening morning speaking to hospitals etc for 3 hours, being passed from pillar to post, I decided to walk down to Ivy Grove Surgery. Running a temperature and visibly unwell, i had the pleasure of speaking to Sally the receptionist. Sally listened, was very understanding and empathetic. She went above and beyond today. She was the only person who actioned an appointment. Can't praise or thank Sally enough. Still poorly, but thanks to Sally we have an action plan in place which has given me a much needed smile. I had been notified of a telephone appt that I had with the doctor. The doctor rang a little earlier than I'd been told but I was ready for his call. He explained everything to me and was very efficient and polite and friendly. I have never had a problem with Ivy Grove practice. All the staff I have come into contact with either by phone or in person have been friendly and knowledgeable. I think it's a well-run and efficient practice – JB
