Our Practice Area > ivy.gs/area

The practice area is based on a strict postcode boundary centred on Ripley and the immediate surrounding areas - please see the  grey area  in the map below. Our actual surgery is located in the town of Ripley - this is the  orange area  in the map below. If you are unsure whether we cover your area, please feel free to use our postcode checker below.

Postcode Checker

We accept patients living in any of the following areas regardless of postcode: Ambergate, Bullbridge, Butterley, Codnor, Crosshill, Denby, Denby Village, Heage, Loscoe, Loscoe Grange, Lower Hartshay, Lower Kilburn, Nether Heage, Kilburn, Marehay, Peasehill, Pentrich, Ridgeway, Ripley, Sawmills, Swanwick, Upper Hartshay, Waingroves. If you live in one of the above areas, and your postcode is not accepted by our checker, this will very likely be because it is a new postcode and not yet included in our checker. If this is the case, please let us know so that we can add your postcode to our database.

We accept patients from only some parts of Leabrooks. You will need to check your postcode to see if we cover where you live.

If you don't have a postcode yet, or have a new postcode that is not accepted, or feel our postcode checker is incorrect, please contact us or ask at reception.

Joining the Practice

Our list is open and we are more than happy to accept any new patients who move into our existing practice area as above. To register with us, please check the details and ID requirements on our new patient registration page. We look forward to providing health care for you and your family.

Under the Patient Choice Scheme, also known as the Out of Area Registration Scheme, we confirm that we do not accept any patients for registration if residing outside our practice area as defined above. Patients in this situation are advised to register with a local GP surgery.

Leaving the Practice Area

For the purposes of the government's Choice of GP practice agenda, we confirm that Ivy Grove Surgery does not have an Outer Boundary area within which we would be willing to retain on our list any patients who move from our existing practice area.

Therefore, patients will be requested to register with other local doctors should they move outside the existing practice area. This is necessary to enable us to concentrate our time and resources on providing a quality service for patients who live within our practice area.
